GARDEN CLUSTER GROUPS

Participants of the Garden Resource Program are invited and encouraged to participate in one of 6 Garden cluster groups, which are based on geographic region within the city of Detroit.  The purpose of the cluster groups is to connect gardeners and urban farmers living and working in the same area of the city in order to provide a support network and access to additional resources.  Additional resources in 2008 included  tilling, soil testing, compost, wood chips, mulch, weed fabric, tool sharing, volunteers and more!

What Cluster Group am I in? Why are there only 6 cluster groups?

Find your location of the Detroit Cluster Map.  Cluster locations are based on the Cluster maps set up through the Detroit Community Reinvestment Strategy Plan.  Currently, there are 6 active cluster groups. There are ten cluster areas in Detroit, the six chosen were based on the number of active community gardeners in 2007.  As participation increases, we plan to establish clusters in each of the ten cluster areas.
